The Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 ("FISMA”) is a United States federal law enacted in 2002 as Title III of the E-Government Act of 2002. The Act was meant to bolster computer and network security within the Federal Government and affiliated parties by mandating yearly audits, bringing attention to cyber-security, which had previously been much neglected.
FISMA imposes a mandatory set of processes that must be followed for all information systems used or operated by a US Government federal agency or by a contractor or other organization on behalf of a U.S. Government agency.
AirTight Networks’ Common Criteria certified wireless intrusion prevention solutions are an integration part of a wireless risk management framework. AirTight identifies potential wireless threats and vulnerabilities for remediation. Wireless vulnerability audits can be performed on-demand or delivered through automated reports to provide insight into both authorized and unauthorized wireless activity. On-going monitoring and notification ensures that the highest level security is maintained between audits, improving an organizations security posture and maintaining a high FISMA rating.
