AirTight Networks Announces SpectraGuard Family of Products on NIAP/Common Criteria Certification List Mountain View, CA - November 13, 2006 - AirTight Networks, the leading provider of wireless intrusion prevention solutions, today announced that two of its products: SpectraGuard® Enterprise – the enterprise scale WIPS solution that can cover an entire federal agency SpectraGuard SAFE – the laptop protection solution – for when federal employees are traveling and out of their home office have now been listed on the NIAP/Common Criteria certification list.   The AirTight Networks’ WIPS solutions being certified through this process – will cover all aspects of wireless IPS protection – large site or headquarters facilities, branch or field office facilities, and laptops that are traveling and not in a federally protected facility.   NIAP Common Criteria certification is mandated for wireless LAN equipment installed by the US Department of Defense. The most recent memorandum from the DoD on WLANs  actually requires installation of wireless IDS or IPS tools – that have been certified through this process. With this listing, AirTight is the only vendor with a complete solution for the DoD’s requirements. NIAP Common Criteria certification is also required by many other governments and institutions that have adopted these criteria, including the Canadian government.   The Common Criteria certification efforts for AirTight’s products are being conducted by CygnaCom Solutions Inc. CygnaCom Solutions’ Security Evaluation Lab (SEL) is a certified NIAP Common Criteria Testing Laboratory (CCTL) authorized to conduct product evaluations according to the Common Criteria (CC) (ISO/IEC 15408) and the Common Evaluation Methodology (CEM) under the U.S. scheme.
