USAID Installs AirTight Networks’ SpectraGuard Enterprise Agency rated A+ for Security by FISMA Mountain View, CA - April 17, 2006 - AirTight® Networks, the leading provider of wireless perimeter security solutions, today announced that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has installed AirTight’s SpectraGuard® Enterprise wireless intrusion prevention system (WIPS). This system will help the USAID secure its information and enforce its wireless policy – both in the US and in many countries around the world.   USAID is the principal U.S. government agency to extend assistance to countries recovering from disaster, trying to escape poverty, and engaging in democratic reforms. USAID supports a country’s long-term and equitable economic growth and advances U.S. foreign policy objectives by supporting: economic growth, agriculture and trade; global health; and democracy, conflict prevention and humanitarian assistance.     USAID is the only federal government agency to receive two consecutive A+ ratings for security under the guidelines established through FISMA (the Federal Information Security Management Act) passed by Congress in 2002. In fact, this year they were awarded a perfect score.   To sustain this A+ security rating, USAID determined they needed to deploy a wireless intrusion prevention system (WIPS).
