CWNP classes will now include AirTight Networks WIPS

Mountain View, CA - May 23, 2006 - AirTight® Networks the leading provider of wireless perimeter security solutions, today announced a partnership with CWNP, the industry standard for wireless LAN training and certification. AirTight Networks’ SpectraGuard® products will become part of the labs taught to students in the CWNP instructor led training courses. CWNP classes give IT professionals the necessary skills for implementing, managing, and securing wireless networks in the enterprise by creating solutions using tools from the industries leading manufacturers.

“The demand for CWNP certifications continues to rise in a market place where wireless networks are growing at an astounding rate, and skilled individuals are needed to install, secure, and maintain them cost effectively,” says Kevin Sandlin, CEO and co-founder of CWNP. “AirTight Networks is a great addition to the CWNP curriculum because their wireless intrusion prevention system (WIPS) gives CWNP students unique insight into how real enterprises can use RF management and wireless LAN security to support real business applications.”

CWNP was named one of the top 3 fastest growing certifications in a CRN Certification Study. AirTight Networks joins over 20 industry leading wireless LAN vendors that recommend or require CWNP certification of their sales engineers and VARs.

“We are delighted to be a part of the CWNP wireless certification program,” said Dennis Tsu, vice president of marketing for AirTight Networks. “As businesses are rapidly deploying wireless solutions and demanding wireless security solutions, educating their staff is paramount and the CWNP Program enables us to reach a broad set of potential customers and help them understand the need for a complete wireless intrusion prevention solution.”

AirTight Networks’ SpectraGuard Enterprise has established its industry leadership position by delivering the key elements of an effective wireless intrusion prevention system (WIPS):
detecting and correctly classifying wireless threats – to catch all threats, while minimizing false alarms
preventing (multiple, simultaneous) wireless threats – while continuing to scan for new ones
accurately locating the wireless threats on a floor map – so they can be removed.

As wireless usage is now commonplace, these patented capabilities, along with the wireless management capabilities now embedded in all of AirTight’s products, are critical to ensuring the cost-effective, secure, reliable performance of any enterprise network infrastructure.

AirTight Networks’ family of products include SpectraGuard® Enterprise, SpectraGuard Sentry, SpectraGuard Planner, and SpectraGuard SAFE (Security Agent For Endpoints) products. As shown in the recently released Tolly Group report and in the March 2006 Information Security Magazine review of WIPS solutions, AirTight’s SpectraGuard Enterprise outperforms its competitors in wireless intrusion prevention functionality.
