Dennis Tsu, VP of Marketing for AirTight, Discusses the Business Justification for WIPS

Mountain View, CA - April 30, 2007
- AirTight® Networks, the leading provider of wireless intrusion prevention solutions, today announced that Dennis Tsu, vice president of marketing, will present a keynote address, “The Business Justification for a Wireless Intrusion Prevention System” at the Unatek 2007 World Summit on Intrusion Prevention (WSIP) at the BWI Airport Marriott & Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD on Tuesday, May 8 at 11 A.M.

While deployments of wireless LAN (WLAN) technology are growing, one of the major inhibitors to this growth has been security concerns.

For customers who have not yet implemented a WLAN or do not wish to, a Wireless Intrusion Prevention System (WIPS) can provide the security blanket that allows an enterprise to defend its network, protect its data, enforce its wireless policies and reap the economic benefits of an agile mobile workforce.

Other companies have seen wireless sprout in their organization, without IT’s blessing – and they need to get this technology under control – before it’s too late.

And, the WLAN pioneers, who already have installed wireless, are waking up to the fact that wireless has created a number of security risks to their enterprise – which they need to plug.

In all of these cases, in order to move security up the technology “to do” list, IT managers need to justify the cost of implementing wireless technology, with a detailed clear business case of the return on investment (ROI) that WIPS technology offers. Attendees at this session will learn how some leading enterprises are justifying their investments in WIPS solutions and the formula for selling the value of security up the chain of command.
