Companies Bring Together Unique Smart Wi-Fi and Wireless Intrusion Prevention Capabilities to Enable Affordable WLAN System for Small and Medium Businesses

- Ruckus Wireless and AirTight® Networks announced a joint partnership today under which the companies will market their powerful wireless LAN and wireless intrusion prevention products as a complete and secure wireless LAN (WLAN) solution to the small and medium enterprise (SME) market.

The joint Ruckus/AirTight solution, allows customers to:
 Enforce role-based user access
 Link AAA group attributes to user roles
 Easily blacklist clients
 Protect against L2/L3 peer snooping
 Automatically detect and classify rogue APs, AP spoofing and ad hoc networks
 Detect and correctly classify wireless threats while minimizing false alarms 
 Prevent (multiple, simultaneous) wireless threats - while continuing to scan for new ones 
 Accurately locate the wireless threats on a floor map - so they can be removed 
 Rate limit users on a per WLAN basis
 
The partnership brings together, for the first time, the newest technology advances in “Smart Wi-Fi” technology with leading wireless intrusion prevention and performance capabilities to give SMEs a reliable, secure and cost-effective WLAN solution.
 
Under the terms of the partnership, Ruckus Wireless will refer its SME solution providers and customers in need of wireless security measures beyond 802.11i and basic AP rogue detection to AirTight Networks and its industry-leading SpectraGuard® family of WIPS products and services. 
 
Similarly AirTight Networks may refer its customers to the new Ruckus ZoneFlex™ Smart WLAN system, a new class of WLAN system developed specifically for SMEs to address the growing wireless issues of reliability, complexity and cost.
 
Solution providers and system integrators can now offer best-in-class smart Wi-Fi and WLAN security meeting the needs of their SME customers.
