AirTight SAFE End Point Protection Adds Wireless Policy Enforcement for WiMax

Las Vegas, NV - May 19, 2009 - AirTight® Networks, the leading provider of wireless security and compliance solutions, announced today at Interop 2009 the availability of new appliances and additional functionality for its SpectraGuard® Enterprise WIPS product. SpectraGuard Enterprise now supports SA-250 and SA-350 appliances providing fail over redundancy in one appliance. With the new appliances, SpectraGuard Enterprise provides three levels of redundancy:

  • Standalone (offline) sensor operation
  • Two levels of hardware redundancy

"Organizations are now supporting mission critical applications on their WLANs, which means that performance and availability are also mission critical," said Sri Sundaralingam, Vice President of Product Management at AirTight. "Three levels of redundancy allow administrators to achieve five 9s of availability (under 9 hours of downtime per year) at a lower price point. With these enhancements, customers are assured that they are always protected even if an appliance fails or the power goes down."

AirTight also announced today the immediate availability of SAFE 2.7, its end point protection product with WiMAX connectivity policy enforcement. AirTight now provides the industry's most comprehensive agent for wireless security policy enforcement via SAFE for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2.5/3G, WiMAX, and infrared.

"AirTight continues to add the functionality our customers need as they deal with the need to scale and secure their wireless infrastructure, provide access to mobile workforces and address emerging security challenges," added Sundaralingam.
