Flagship Wireless Intrusion Prevention Product Meets High Standard Required for DoD Installations

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIF., -  January 3, 2012-AirTight^® Networks, the leading provider of wireless intrusion prevention (WIPS) products and services, today announced that its flagship wireless security product, SpectraGuard® Enterprise, achieved FIPS 140-2 validation from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of the United States and the Communications Security Establishment of Canada (CSEC).

Under the Information Technology Management Reform Act (Public Law 104-106), the Secretary of Commerce approves standards and guidelines that are developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for Federal computer systems. These standards and guidelines are issued by NIST as Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) for use government-wide.
