AirTight Networks Brings Comprehensive Wireless Intrusion Prevention to McAfee Security Innovation AllianceSpectraGuard Enterprise and SAFE Protect Data, Prevent Disruptions, Identify Vulnerabilities and Continuously Monitor for Wireless Threats Mountain View, Calif. - October 6, 2009 - AirTight® Networks, a leader in wireless intrusion prevention systems (WIPS), today announced that it has joined the McAfee Security Innovation AllianceTM to provide customers of both companies with a robust wireless security solution which mitigates against current and emerging threats, regardless of where attacks are launched, including at the endpoint. AirTight will provide integration between SpectraGuard® Enterprise and McAfee® ePolicy Orchestrator® (ePOTM) software. Wireless security-related incidents will be imported into the McAfee ePO platform from AirTight's SpectraGuard® Enterprise server. The integration will be provided for data reported by both SpectraGuard Sensors and SpectraGuard SAFE agents. This will allow customers to utilize the McAfee ePO console for wireless security incident reporting. "A security vendor must constantly watch, assess, evaluate and respond quickly to the needs of its customers because enterprises face aggressive opponents determined to steal their data," said David King, Chairman and CEO of AirTight. "But acquiring technology to address all attack vectors creates significant cost and complexity and delivers suboptimal protection, particularly since existing tools generally cannot share information, coordinate threat intelligence feeds, or correlate security events. By integrating the best of breed technologies into a single pane of glass, McAfee is delivering a more complete security solution to customers while lowering operational costs." The McAfee Security Innovation Alliance is the foundation of a technology ecosystem designed to assemble the world's leading security innovations. SIA enables McAfee customers to leverage their investments in McAfee while adding complementary capabilities not found in McAfee's core offerings. "A key goal behind the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance program is to accelerate the development of interoperable security products and simplify the integration of those products with complex customer environments," said Ed Barry, senior director, McAfee Security Innovation Alliance. "AirTight has been an innovator in the wireless security space and was a logical fit for SIA, as its products are built to provide a high level of wireless security." SpectraGuard Enterprise offers proactive, automated wireless intrusion prevention with strong zero-day protection to guard against wireless vulnerabilities. AirTight's patented marker packet technology and industry's unique VLAN Policy MappingTM architecture allows customers to detect a mismatch between wired and wireless assets and security policy settings, which in turn allows protection against many attack sequences which can be launched over access points. Because confidential business data often resides on employee laptops, wireless security also includes laptops or endpoints. AirTight's SpectraGuard® SAFE (Security Agent For Endpoints) enforces wireless policies on laptops even when employees roam outside the corporate network and protect against data leakage, whether wireless connections are used in the office, on the road, at home or at airports. SAFE allows administrators to:
