AirTight Wireless Security Product Achieves "McAfee Compatible" Status; SpectraGuard Now Integrates with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Platform
Integration allows SpectraGuard to report wireless threats and incidents directly to McAfee® ePolicy Orchestrator® console
Mountain View, Calif. - July 13, 2010 - AirTight® Networks, a global leader in wireless intrusion prevention systems (WIPS), today announced that it has achieved "McAfee Compatible" status for its SpectraGuard® Enterprise WIPS. The integrated joint solution allows wireless security-related incidents to be reported from AirTight's SpectraGuard Enterprise server to the McAfee® ePolicy Orchestrator® (ePOTM) software. Mutual customers can now utilize McAfee ePO dashboards to view a range of wireless security events, which helps prevent disruptions, identify vulnerabilities, and monitor and manage emerging wireless threats.
AirTight joined the McAfee® Security Innovation AllianceTM in 2009, and recently became a Sales Teaming Partner in the program. McAfee Security Innovation Alliance is the foundation of a technology ecosystem designed to assemble the world's leading security innovations, enabling McAfee customers to leverage their investments in McAfee while adding complementary capabilities not found in McAfee's core offerings.
"AirTight is pleased to have achieved this important milestone. Together we can help McAfee customers keep ahead of wireless threats by delivering a more complete security solution while lowering operational costs," said David King, Chairman and CEO of AirTight. "Existing tools generally cannot share information, coordinate threat intelligence feeds, or correlate security events. This integration allows customers to unify their security controls into one single pane of glass and provides them with a robust wireless security solution which protects against current and emerging threats."
"We are delighted to welcome AirTight's SpectraGuard product as McAfee Compatible," said Ed Barry, senior director, McAfee Security Innovation Alliance. "With this integration, our mutual customers can be confident that their enterprise networks are secure from unforeseen vulnerabilities and malicious threats - whether they arrive over the wire or through the air."
AirTight also announced that its end point protection product, SpectraGuard SAFE (Security Agent For Endpoints) is in testing for "McAfee Compatible" status. When completed, a SAFE agent can be deployed and monitored via the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator console.
About SpectraGuard Enterprise and SAFE
SpectraGuard Enterprise offers proactive, automated wireless intrusion prevention with strong zero-day protection to guard against wireless vulnerabilities. AirTight's patented marker packet technology and industry's unique VLAN Policy MappingTM architecture allows customers to detect a mismatch between wired and wireless assets and security policy settings, which in turn allows protection against many attack sequences which can be launched over access points.
Because confidential business data often resides on employee laptops, wireless security also includes laptops or endpoints. AirTight's SpectraGuard SAFE enforces wireless policies on laptops even when employees roam outside the corporate network and protect against data leakage, whether wireless connections are used in the office, on the road, at home or at airports. SAFE allows administrators to:
- Centrally enforce wireless policies
- Access centralized reporting
- Manage Alerts, reports and policies for thousands of devices from a single web console through the SpectraGuard Enterprise Console.
