Faysal A. Sohail, Chairman - AirTight Networks, and Managing Director - Presidio Partners

Faysal Sohail joined Presidio Partners in 2002 as a Managing Director. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Applied Wave Research, Catalytic, Inovys Corporation, Pyxis Technology, Symwave and Telsima; and Faysal previously served on the board of Alien Technology. Mr. Sohail brings with him more than a decade of senior executive experience in engineering, marketing and business development. He was CEO of Cadabra Design Automation and managed its acquisition by Numerical Technologies (NMTC) where he served as Sr. Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations.

Prior to Numerical Technologies, Faysal was Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy for Synopsys Inc. (SNPS). In 1990, he co-founded Silicon Architects, which was acquired by Synopsys in 1995. Earlier in his career, Faysal spent several years in IC design engineering and marketing positions with Actel Corporation (ACTL) and LSI Logic Corporation (LSI).

Mr. Sohail holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign), where he also served on the College of Engineering Advisory Board (CEAB) and is Chairman of the Board of the San Jose Education Foundation.

Pravin BhagwatPravin Bhagwat, Founder and Chief Technology Officer

Pravin Bhagwatis a wireless networking pioneer and an accomplished researcher. He brings 20+ years of leading edge research and development experience in wireless, security and networking and leads product innovation, technical strategy and technical marketing at AirTight Networks.

Prior to founding AirTight Networks, Pravin spent 1.5 years as a visiting faculty member at Computer Science department, IIT Kanpur. He received 2005 Global Indus Technovator Award for successfully engineering the world’s first, very large scale outdoor WLAN network connecting two cities in North India.

Pravin started his research career at IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center and AT&T Research where he was a lead member of MobileIP, and Bluetooth research teams. Pravin has research papers (with 1000+ citations) and 16 patents to his credit.

For the past three years, Pravin has also been active in several community level green initiatives and social entrepreneurship projects. Pravin has a B.Tech. in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur, India and an MS/PhD in computer science from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA.

Rick WilmerRick Wilmer, Chief Executive Officer

Rick Wilmer's 25+ year career in Silicon Valley has been focused in storage and networking. As CEO, Rick is focused on propelling AirTight to the next phase of rapid growth and development.

Rick was most recently the CEO of Leyden Energy. Immediately prior to Leyden, he was an entrepreneur in residence at Lightspeed Ventures. Prior to joining Lightspeed, Rick was the CEO at Pliant Technology, which was acquired by Sandisk for $327M in May of 2011. He served as COO at Santur Corporation, and prior to that as the head of business operations at Aruba Networks as an early employee through their IPO. He has also held roles as Vice President of Engineering and Vice President of Operations at 2Wire, Maxtor, and Seagate. Rick has extensive international experience, especially in Asia, where he resided for two years.

Rick received his BS in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley and holds a patent in data storage technology.

Eric Zimits, Managing Director, Granite Ventures

After spending a long career in finance and investments with a focus on the communications sector, Eric Zimits joined Granite Ventures in 2000 to focus on investing in early-stage communications and components companies.

Andrew Kau, Walden International

At Walden International, Andrew focuses on clean technology and semiconductors. He joined Walden International in 1994. Prior to WI, he was President of Chemical Technologies Ventures. He was also a management consultant at Strategic Planning Associates and Booz, Allen and Hamilton. Earlier in his career, he was a research scientist at Systems Planning Corporation and a VLSI semiconductor engineer at IBM.

Andrew holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Brown University and an MBA from the University of Virginia.
